Abstract

This chapter presents a comprehensive analysis of the results regarding the five participating countries: Italy, Romania, Russia, Spain and the Netherlands. There is already a vast literature on the spread, adoption and integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in everyday life by different groups, on their relationship with people’s wellbeing and on their role in the texture of family and parental relationships. Exploring how the layperson construct meanings with regard to the artificialisation of the human body became for a priority, especially considering that there is a lack of empirical research on the theme. The opportunity to conduct a joint project involving scholars from these locations allowed to grasp a preliminary picture on the wider European area, touching its four cardinal points and incorporating the particular contribution of Russia. The English version was adopted in The Netherlands and in Romania, allowing respondents to give free associations either in English or in their own native language.
