Abstract
Still, after many years and efforts, the solo self-employed workers in the
Netherlands are lacking adequate social protection. However, the topic has been
high on the political agenda for quite some time. This contribution sheds more light
on both the current legislative plans and obstacles, more specifically on the (intention of the) introduction of a compulsory disability insurance for solo self-employed.
