Abstract

Chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis are usually diagnosed at an early age and are becoming more common. These are debilitating conditions with a major impact on quality of life and daily activities. The symptoms and progression of these diseases vary wildly, making it particularly difficult to get a better grip on the condition. By using a telemedicine health-care pathway and monitoring clinical and patient-reported outcomes, patients and physicians gain more insight into the course of the disease.
