Abstract
The word “Euthanasia” is derived from the Greek words “eu” (good) and “thanatos” (death), so euthanasia literally means “good death”. Because of the benign nature of the word euthanasia, one would assume that the concept is widely accepted, but it is not. This Chapter will discuss reasons for this and current concepts and developments in this area.
