Abstract
In the symptom-oriented phase of palliative care, anticancer therapy is no longer possible. This means that in this phase, there is no causative treatment for the complex syndrome of cachexia. Ensuring the best possible quality of life is the aim of interventions and so the benefit-to-risk/burden ratio of a nutritional intervention must be carefully considered. Toward the end of life, comfort food is recommended.
