Abstract
This dissertation presents the results of the Actifcare study, which examined access to formal dementia care in Europe using various research methods. Being assigned a specific contact person and receiving personalised and timely information is crucial for people with dementia. They also need professional help making decisions, as these could lead to conflicts between the dementia sufferer and his or her caregiver. Actifcare developed 23 recommendations for improving (access to) care.
