The Future Looks Bleak for Tobacco Stocks

Press/Media: ResearchPopular

Description

Investors should be wary of tobacco stocks. It may be the beginning of the end, according to a new report from Tobacco Free Portfolios, a Australia-based nonprofit group that seeks to make investment funds tobacco-free.
The paper drew on recent findings from Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, which forecast not a “sudden market crash, but rather a continuous decline in the market capitalisation of tobacco firms in the long run.”
