Abstract

Diversity, and especially the management of diversity, is not only a very popular topic within organizations, but also receives a lot of attention in scientific research. This popularity became evident when the call for papers for this special issue resulted in more papers than one issue of this journal can contain. As a result, we have decided to devote not one but two special issues to diversity. In this introduction we present a short overview of the state-of-the-art of the research on diversity and connect this to the five papers in this first special issue.
