note = "Funding Information: In addition, the CBCS is highly active and essential in contributing to guidelines, by providing basic background for medical interventions, wherever appropriate, which is one way the CBCS can help to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical practice. The CBCS hosts a platform for communication with other European basic science organizations, as well as with the AHA Council for Basic Cardiovascular Sciences, sharing its experiences with other ESC Associations and Councils and also establishing links with sister societies. Through this array of activities, the CBCS acts as a unique and Europe-wide forum for cardiovascular research societies and a conduit for positive collaboration. Young and emerging scientists benefit from several other awards by the CBCS at the ESC Congress poster reception: First Contact Initiative Grants for foreign collaboration, Basic Research Fellowships, Outstanding Achievement Awards, and basic science travel grants, e.g. for FCVB.",
