Abstract
Even with bimaxillary osteotomies, the surgical treatment of malocclusions of the mandible is corrected in most cases by bilateral sagittal split osteotomy—BSSO. Alternative techniques such as the intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy IVRO or the reverse L-osteotomy can be applied.
