Surprising Usages of a Documentation Model. On the Notion of Boundary Objects and Beyond

Research output: Contribution to journalArticleAcademicpeer-review

Abstract

In this article we will employ the notion of boundary object to gain a better understanding of the hybrid character of contemporary dance documentation models and their value in the coordination between different social words. As a case study, we will discuss the development and usages of a documentation model initially designed as a tool for reconstruction purposes of the performance Extra Dry by the company Emio Greco|PC. By means of an empirical informed analysis, the aim of the article is to shed new light on the practices of documentation and to raise awareness for the several, often unforeseen, roles that models and protocols can play in documentation and artistic practices.
