Abstract

A search for K ⁰ _SðL _Þ → π ^þπ ⁻μ ^þμ ⁻ decays is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb ⁻¹. No K ⁰ _SðL _Þ → π ^þπ ⁻μ ^þμ ⁻ signals are found and upper limits are set for the first time on the branching fractions BðK ⁰ _S → π ^þπ ⁻μ ^þμ ⁻Þ < 1.4 × 10 ⁻⁹ and BðK ⁰ _L → π ^þπ ⁻μ ^þμ ⁻Þ < 6.6 × 10 ⁻⁷, at the 90% confidence level.
