Risk analysis

The precautionary principle, applied differently across jurisdictions like the European Union and the United States, underscores the divergence in responses to uncertain risks. Risk communication ensures interactive exchanges of information between stakeholders and aims to build public trust in food safety governance. The chapter emphasizes the growing need for improved technologies, integrated data systems and public involvement to enhance the effectiveness of risk analysis frameworks in a complex and evolving food system.
