Abstract
This paper discusses conceptual and operational issues involved in measuring globalization. We propose a modified index for measuring globalization. The suggested index is based upon the A.T. Kearney/ Foreign Policy Globalization Index, but is improved both conceptually and operationally. We used data for 117 countries from a variety of resources to test the robustness of the suggested index. Furthermore, the results are compared with two recent globalization indices (the A.T. Kearney/Foreign Policy Globalization Index and the World Markets Research Centre G-Index). The new index is used to delineate the various countries according to their level of globalization.
