Reflexive co-evolution and governance patterns

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterAcademic

Abstract

This chapter is an attempt to broaden the notion of governance so as to be able to include a larger variety of patterns of governance and governance arrangements than is usual in the literature, at least as emerging science and technology are concerned. To do so, we introduce the notion of ongoing co-evolution of science, technology and society, a notion that has become quite common in science and technology studies and economics of innovation, explicitly [1-3], or in related terminology like mutual shaping of science, technology and society [4] and co-production [5].
