Abstract
Postoperative care of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery requires special attention, as surgical procedures are located in the airway entry zone and may compromise it. Special attention must be paid to post-operative bleeding, swelling, and airway obstruction. Postoperative pain management is absolutely essential to make the patient feel safe. This is even more important if the patient has received intermaxillary fixation after surgery.
