Abstract

Various non-invasive plaque imaging modalities can provide detailed information on the carotid plaque with supplementary and complementary roles in identifying high-risk features. Further evi-dence is necessary to incorporate each of these imaging modalities with their advantages and lim-itations into a standardized diagnostic flowchart with the purpose to offer a significant contribution to risk stratification and patient management.
