Abstract
We describe a 15 year old patient diagnosed with
Nagashima-type palmoplantar keratoderma (NPPK).
NPPK is an autosomal recessive nonsyndromic diffuse
palmoplantar keratosis mainly found in Japanese and
Chinese populations. NPPK is caused by mutations in
the SERPINB7 gene, in which prevalent mutations expert
a founder effect in these particular populations.
