Abstract
This paper focuses on the pragmatic dimension of the civil procedure through an interdisciplinary vision within a study of the General Theory of Law, International Law and Civil Procedure, analyzing the effects of international judicial cooperation through the principle of effectiveness and the rule of reciprocity. As for the methodology, it adopts bibliographic and documentary research through the deductive approach method. The study concludes that the principle of effectiveness is a norm that embodies a manifestation of legal pragmatism in the establishing of domestic jurisdiction and a State's international jurisdiction.
