Midline Pathologies

This dissertation describes in particular diseases and disorders that can occur in the middle of the abdominal wall. Think of different abdominal wall fractures, but also the thinning of the abdominal wall in the center line. In addition, the dissertation tries to provide insight into the different treatment options for these disorders through literature research, but also clinical, retrospective and prospective randomized research. Outcomes such as recurrences are important, but more important are patient-related outcomes such as pain and cosmetic outcome. The idea is that with the results of this thesis we can better help patients with common complaints, such as navel fractures.
