Abstract
In my dissertation, I have studied how expertise about bipolar disorder is enacted on American and French online platforms, at a time when the role and legitimacy of expertise have been challenged and when the internet has been increasingly approached either as a quick technological fix or as a postmodern version of Pandora’s box.
