Abstract

This book began to be conceived after the "Brazilian Meeting of Professors of International Law" that took place between 28 and 29 June 2019 in the city of Campos do Jordão - São Paulo, under the auspices of the Brazilian Academy of International Law - ABDI. From then on, several professors from different parts of the country brought their teaching experiences and took the time to produce articles to discuss and debate the research and teaching of International Law in Brazil. The book is organized into three parts: (i) practical and theoretical challenges, (ii) experiences and analysis, and (iii) didactic and pedagogical proposals. Throughout the chapters, these three parts interact transversally, allowing for an in-depth understanding of the different themes that make up the work, such as the curricular guidelines and the teaching of International Law; the crisis of International Law teaching; International Law teaching and classroom experience; research methodology and International Law; the teaching of International Law during the pandemic; International Law congresses; the teaching of Private International Law; Human Rights clinics; the teaching of International Trade Law; new models of the teaching-learning process and International Law; active methodologies, the case method studies of International Law; the mock competitions and their importance for the learning of International Law; cinema and research groups in International Law among other critical readings and approaches. It is, therefore, a work that portrays the knowledge and effort of renowned and experienced teachers of universities from all over the country and is a fundamental instrument for researchers who wish to understand the process of teaching and research of the subject in the country, as well as professionals in higher education, teachers who will be able to know different experiences developed throughout the country in the exercise of research and teaching in International Law, thus offering content with rich reading and reflection.
