Abstract

This article is a response to a previously published article that stated that neoliberalism is the reason that there is currently little research on human dignity in work & organizational research. In this reply I have stated that the observation itself is correct, but the reasoning behind it is not. In my view the author overlooked that in the 70's and 80's employees' well-being, and Industrial Democracy were important topics. These topics were important because, at that time, researchers had explicitly chosen to study them. Researchers were at that time more aware of the differences in interests between employers and employees, and they should be more aware of this nowadays, in particular researchers in the domain of W&O psychology.
