Abstract

The authors regret the specification of incorrect units regarding the flow rates of the individual solutions in the microfluidic experiments. In the publication, the flow rate data is given in "μmL min -1" (p. 6234). Instead, the correct unit should be "μmL h -1". This correction applies to all microfluidic flow rates stated in the article and is important for the reproducibility of the data, but has no influence on the remaining results and conclusions of the publication. The corrected version of the text from the article is shown below. In the case of two separate aqueous solutions, the volumetric flow rate of each was set to Q water = 75 μL h -1 and the oil phase was adjusted to Q oil = 300 μL h -1 . In the case of a singular aqueous phase, the volumetric flow rate was set to Q water = 200 μL h -1 for the dispersed phase and Q oil = 400 μL h -1 for the continuous phase. The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
