Correction: BMC Microbiol 26, 192 (2026) Following publication of the original article [1], the authors noticed an issue as the members from the Dutch CPE surveillance study group were captured as co-authors in the final version and not collectively acknowledged in the author byline through the “Dutch CPE surveillance study group”. Therefore, the authors would like to correct the final version by removing the members from the author list. The incorrect and correct set of author list are provided below.
