Research interests

Tim is involved in the EU-funded TRANSIT project (Transformative Social Innovation Theory), running till the end of 2017, as junior researcher and as of December 2016 as PhD researcher.

His PhD focuses on the organization and facilitation of social learning processes in transformative research and social innovation.

Next to his half-time research work, Tim is also involved as facilitator and movement-builder in the social enterprise rootAbility, empowering and supporting students and staff around Europe to embed sustainability in higher education instutions, to become catalysts for societal transformation.

His TRANSIT and PhD research and his practical engagement in social innovation through rootAbility go hand in hand, which allows him to integrate theory and practice in a truly transdisciplinary manner.
