Short bio :
Dr. Raphaëlle Mattart is Entrepreneur in Residence at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Maastricht University. Her work focuses on family business and governance, with particular attention to shareholder power dynamics, next-generation development, and the professionalisation of family firms.
She obtained her PhD in Economics and Management at HEC Liège (2023), where she conducted the first international empirical study on family constitutions. This research was awarded the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award by the Family Firm Institute (Boston, 2023).
In addition to her academic activities, Raphaëlla is the founder of CRAN, a firm supporting business families in family governance and shareholder education. She also has experience as a lecturer and speaker at international conferences. Drawing on both academic expertise and her own background as a member of a business family, she aims to foster stronger connections between academia and practice, ensuring that research is relevant to the needs and awareness of entrepreneurial families.
