My current PhD project concerns interrelations between market, knowledge and good care. Drawing on ethnographic methods, I explore how private clinics dwelling on disruptions of Russian healthcare infrastructure use their private spaces to practice what they call evidence-based medicine. The configuration of private spaces allows clinics' personnel to improvise to meet the requirements of formal regulations, apply foreign clinical guidelines and knowledge of recent academic articles in daily practice, and navigate patients within ambiguous healthcare infrastructure.
