Research interests
Marjan Peeters is Professor of Environmental Policy and Law at Maastricht University. She publishes on various topics of environmental law, with a special interest in legal aspects of climate change, regulatory instruments, and environmental procedural rights. Marjan has co-edited several books in the field of EU environmental and climate law, among which Climate Change Law (with Daniel A Farber, 2016) and the Research Handbook on EU environmental law (with Mariolina Eliantonio, 2020). She has supervised and is still supervising several PhD projects in this field. Marjan teaches the courses “European Environmental Law” (master) and “Global Environmental Law" (master) at Maastricht University. Marjan is member of the Maastricht Centre of European Law, the Institute for Transnational Legal Research (METRO), the Ius Commune Research School, the European Environmental Law Forum, and the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law.
