Personal profile

Research interests

I am a geometric-topologist and my primary area of research is knot theory, braid groups and 3-manifolds. In particular, I am interested in studying topological objects through the lens of algebra. My research focuses on the construction of Jones-type invariants for knots and links in 3-manifolds other than the 3-sphere (skein modules), using knot algebras and Markov traces. Recently, I developed an interest on doubly periodic structures and applications of knot theory to protein structures.
