Research interests

Dr. Peristeridou is a tenured assistant professor at the Maastricht Institute for Criminal Sciences and the Criminal law & Criminology department at Maastricht University. Her research focuses on comparative criminal procedure and she has published work on virtual justice, pre-trial detention and EU criminal justice. Dr. Peristeridou also publishes on the role of principles of law. She is co-founder of Female Empowerment Maastricht. 

Dr. Peristeridou currently focuses on virtual trials, the impact of virtual presence to law and developing new principles of trial to address virtual presence in courts.
