We combine cell biology, biochemistry, and analytical tools to investigate the principles that regulate cellular lipid homeostasis, with a focus on how cells achieve the spatial distribution of lipids across membrane-bound organelles. We are particularly interested in the role of membrane contact sites—specialized regions where organelles come into close proximity—in coordinating lipid exchange. Current projects in the lab focus on:
