Description

Using international congresses as nodes, scientists and philanthropists expanded an expert network in social reform from the 1850s onward. The project explores both the impact of international expertise on the national and local level of governance and vice-versa. The database contains records on 3000+ visitors to International Social Reform Congresses between 1840 and 1880.
