Starting early next year, it will no longer matter whether you are straight or gay if you want to donate blood. Blood bank Sanquin is going to present everyone with an identical questionnaire about sexual behaviour. This measure is ending decades of discriminatory exclusion merely based on sexual orientation. Various media including nu.nl report this in response to a Letter of Parliament from Minister Kuipers (Public Health). In this letter, the Minister refers to research by FPN's Kai Jonas and Kennedy d'Abreu de Paulo, among others, informing this landmark decision.
