A panel with different speakers from the Law Faculty of Maastricht University will dive into different aspects of International Law in relation to Israel-Palestine. International Law is the set of rules, norms, and standards generally recognized as binding between states. It establishes norms for states across a broad range of domains, including war and diplomacy, international relations and human rights.
The panel addresses criteria of statehood, the right of self-determination, the law of armed conflicts and humanitarian law. The panel looks at mandates and resolutions and their effects and especially at the role of the UN and the International Court of Justice.
