People are known to overstate their willingness to be “green” when confronted with a hypothetical question. Many people state to care for animal well-being but buy the cheapest meat in the supermarket. Many publicly proclaim to care for the environment but opt out of paying a few more dollars to make their flight emission-free. So, how can we reliably know what investors think about sustainable investing? If given the choice, would pension participants put their savings on the table to promote sustainability?
