Description
In the run-up to the Maastricht municipal elections on March 18 2026, the Maastricht Research Centre for Society and Law (MOSaR) hosted The Maastricht Election Series: Local Democracy in Action. This two-part event series offered an accessible introduction to local politics and how the city council shapes daily life in Maastricht.Municipal politics may feel distant, but city council decisions influence housing, mobility, sustainability, public services and more. These sessions provided an opportunity for both Dutch and international students and staff to learn what’s at stake and engage directly with local political actors. All sessions were held in English and thus open to an international audience.
