Description

Higher education is more and more organised in an international classroom setting these days. Especially small group interactive instruction is influenced by such a setting, but unbiased effects are not unambiguous. We study whether an international classroom affects student performance in a setting where students are randomly assigned to small education groups (tutorials) in which they frequently interaction is stimulated. We find that the internationality of the classroom matters. There are however differences between academic fields and between the different nationalities of both students and teachers. To find out more about the driving mechanisms we will make use of the qualitative study on this topic that is being conducted simultaneously and if possible/suitable we analyse course evaluations.
