In this talk, I will explore the distinction between quantity-led and quality-led growth, showing that the future development of the European economy must depend on quality-led growth. Such quality-led growth requires the further development of what J.K. Galbraith has called the ‘New Class’, and the key to this is education that focuses on the key drivers of quality-led growth, such as creativity and authenticity.
