Description
Jonge Atlantici / Young Atlantic Association hosted an event that brought together experts and participants to discuss the global and trans-Atlantic implications of the 2024 U.S. presidential election. With the return of Donald Trump to the White House, and the announcement of several cabinet nominations, the event provided great insights into what this new administration means for Europe and the world. The evening began with Joost J. Kramer U.S. election governance expert, who broke down the election campaign and the key factors influencing voter decisions. Afterwards, our stellar panel, featuring Professor Roberta N. Haar (Maastricht University), Paul(保罗) Verhagen (The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies), and Tanja Röling (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs), moderated by Lars Gerrits, explored how the election results could reshape U.S. foreign policy and its impact on trans-Atlantic relations. From Ukraine to Taiwan, the panel provided thought-provoking considerations into the future of US foreign policy.
