Description

Effective decision-making to control anthropogenic carbon emissions is necessary to limit risks to natural and human systems. One of the most promising long-term solutions is the development of biomass-based products. Especially since the benefits of a transition to biobased products are multiple. This would lead to the elimination of the large dependence on fossil fuels but would also generate positive socio-economic impacts. The bioeconomy is an economic opportunity for agriculture, forestry, chemistry, manufacturing and their value chains through the development of biobased products. It is therefore useful to support decision-making from the biobased products supply chain design stage to environmental and economic criteria in a life-cycle perspective
