This thesis is embedded in the Group Care during the first 1000 days (GC_1000) project and it aims to propose a study design for the implementation of antenatal and postnatal group care in diverse countries, to identify contextual barriers and facilitators and to evaluate the implementation of context-sensitive GC. Implementation strategies and adaptations and their fit with the local context are discussed. The study design is reflected upon and implications of this work are drawn.
