Description

Maha Said (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord), Candida Sanchez Burmester (Maastricht University), and Zoé Toure (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord) organized together the Symposium ‘Escaping the (nano)bubble: the role of replications in scientific controversies’. The symposium took place at the Université Paris Cité on November 8-10, 2023, and was sponsored by the NanoBubbles project. The aim of the conference was to stimulate an interdisciplinary exchange on replications and unresolved questions in nanobiology about how nanoparticles access the cell cytosol. The speakers were a) researchers from the social sciences or humanities who study replications, b) core members of replication projects, or c) natural scientists considered experts on endosomal escape of nanoparticles. In most panels the talks by scientists working in nanobiology were combined with talks by social scientists or humanists.
