Back in March 2020, Data Science and Knowledge Engineering (DKE) department of Maastricht University, the Brightlands Institute for Smart Society (BISS) and the Brightlands Smart Services Campus (BSSC) joined forces and started developing a framework for involving 30 third-year students of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program into AI-related projects at Dela, BNY Mellon, Sitech Services and the Dutch National Police Corps.After the proactive cooperation of all the participating parties, the students were matched to assignments for which they had to collaborate with the companies. In September 2020, they all met on campus and also online. After a semester of hard work, this Thursday (Jan 21, from 10:00 to 14:00), students will give final presentations and share the results of their projects.
This collaboration is an excellent example where theory meets practice and participating organisations get to meet tomorrow’s talented employees
