The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionised the way social media platforms moderate user-generated content. However, technical imperfections of existing moderation tools, coupled with the lack of accountability of platforms that deploy them, could threaten freedom of expression online. The talk concerned the impact of algorithmic content moderation on freedom of expression and reflects on the possible means of safeguarding it under the EU legal order.
